A History of the Tedeschi family

Tedeschi's 1st Store - 1923

The retail food business is a three-generation enterprise for the Tedeschi family. It began back in 1923 when Angelo Tedeschi owned and operated a store in Rockland, Massachusetts out of the basement of the family home on Belmont Street. It was there that the public's high regard for the Tedeschi Family Philosophy of quality and customer service began and continues today in Tedeschi Food Shops.

Over the years the Tedeschi name progressed throughout Southeastern Massachusetts and Cape Cod. Since 1923, the Tedeschi Family has been involved in the retail food industry; with Tedeschi Supermarkets, Angelo's Supermarkets and Curtis Compacts, which was acquired in 1972.

Today Tedeschi Food Shops operates throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut and New Hampshire. The family takes great pride in all of its employees, knowing that their dedication and service contributed greatly to Tedeschi’s success.
